Kathleen Shaffer

Small Business Owner
Kathleen is enthusiastic about serving on the Seniors First board. One of her priorities is being involved in programs that focus on the quality of life for the older population. She feels her business career and community service has completed a full circle. Kathleen began her professional career teaching deaf children before changing her career to focus on sales and marketing. To gain a better understanding of public policy and effective organizational strategies in business she completed a Master’s of Science from the University of San Francisco.

Putting her degree and experience to work, Kathleen and husband Robert Green became business owners. She considers business owners to be unsung heroes and heroines in local communities because they commit so much time and energy to being successful.

With her business career behind her, she is able to focus on the community. She was just elected to the Auburn Chamber of Commerce Board. To help business owners, she organized the Auburn Mentoring Project which is sponsored by the Chamber. She serves on the Leadership Auburn Board’s Executive Committee, is Chair of the State Theatre’s Film Committee, and is a member of the Auburn Rotary Club.
