SENIORS FIRST RECEIVES GRANTS IN SUPPORT OF Meals On Wheels

Meals on Wheels client

Roseville Meals on Wheels client Beverly Hobson receives her daily noontime meal, which she divides in half to also enjoy for dinner.

With the recent addition of Meals on Wheels to Seniors First’s roster of nutrition services, Seniors First finds itself in need of 19 additional volunteer delivery drivers to accommodate our nearly 400 meal delivery clients.

Serving as a Seniors First volunteer provides an unparalleled opportunity to impact the health and life of Placer County seniors.  For some seniors, engaging with a volunteer is the only social interaction they will receive.
Betty Cimino of Rocklin delivers meals twice a week to her local route. “It’s amazing. I started volunteering because I thought it would be good to help.  But these people… you get acquainted, you get attached.  Then, before you know it, you’re as excited to see them as they are to see you!”

“It’s such a touching, humbling experience,” she continued.  “One lady crocheted a coaster for me.  They’re so sweet, just the best.”

Volunteering is simple and accommodating of most schedules.  Watch our latest TV coverage to see more details.
If you can spare a few hours per week and join our group of volunteers, please  contact our Senior Nutrition department.
