MEAL PROGRAMS TO BENEFIT FROM NEW PROVIDER

In March 2017, the Placer County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a contract with Aramark Corporation to provide meal preparation for services for the County’s Correctional Facilities and for the meals prepared for Seniors First’s nutrition programs.

While we enjoyed the previous arrangement with the County, we anticipate no disruption in meal delivery schedule and no change in service or service quality with Aramark.  Meals will still be freshly prepared daily and delivered hot.  In addition, Aramark is committed to retaining the inmate training and work program which is vital and important to the rehabilitation of Placer County’s incarcerated.

Aramark is a multi-billion-dollar provider with unsurpassed experience in serving large populations.  Potential benefits for our program include increased service capacity and the opportunity to grow programs and introduce new and varied menu items.

Smoothing the entire process, we have already established clear and constructive lines of communication with our Aramark liaisons.  Supervisor Jim Holmes and our dedicated staff are committed to supporting Seniors First and our clients through this transition.
