FOX40 Salutes Seniors First

Each Wednesday, FOX40’s morning news recognizes a person or organization that is serving its community.

Last month, we were honored to be the featured nonprofit for its ‘Salute to Service’ segment.

A camera crew tagged along with volunteer delivery driver Tyler Sanchez who was visiting Joyce Skulley, a MyMeals client in Rocklin.  Joyce lives alone and doesn’t drive.  Her daughters live nearby but have families and jobs of their own that prevent them from visiting more than once a week.  MyMeals provides Joyce with nutritious meals that she divides between breakfast and lunch.

By offering nutrition programs to hungry seniors, Seniors First hopes to eradicate the painful choice too many seniors have to make, the choice between food and other necessary basics.
