My Rides

My Rides
MyRides provides free transportation services to non-emergency medical appointments and other essential services for eligible Placer County residents. Transportation is provided by volunteer drivers who are approved and scheduled by Seniors First.

Who is Eligible
Residents of Placer County who fall into one of three categories:
Individuals aged 60 and older who are ambulatory.
Individuals with disabilities aged 18 - 59 and are ambulatory.
Families with children ages 0 - 5, who are unable to use conventional transportation services.

Coverage Area
The MyRides Program currently provides transportation to all communities within Placer County based on volunteer availability.
Transportation from residencies within Placer County into Nevada County and Sacramento County for specific appointments is allowed.

Hours of Operation
The MyRides program is available seven (7) days a week from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. based on volunteer availability.

How It Works
Prospective riders may contact a MyRides representative at 1-800-878-9222 from 8:30 A.M. - 4 P.M. Monday through Friday for information about their transportation needs. We request that rides are scheduled at least fourteen (14) days in advance of desired trip but may also be scheduled as far in advance as three (3) months.

A MyRides scheduler will contact and coordinate with a volunteer driver to arrange for the requested transportation. This may take up to one (1) week.

The volunteer driver will pick-up the client at their residence and drive them to their destination.

The driver typically stays on location with the client, then drives the volunteer home at the conclusion of the appointment.

Please be advised that no wheelchairs, power chairs, scooters, or large oxygen tanks will be accommodated.
