YOU Can Make a Difference in the Life of a Senior
September 20, 2017
Since taking over Placer County’s MEALS ON WHEELS program a few months ago, we have received loads of positive feedback and dozens of emails from our clients thanking us for the efficient, friendly (and delicious!) service.

It costs thousands of dollars to operate such a program and, thanks to the staff at Sacramento Region Community Foundation and Placer Community Foundation, that financial burden has been eased.

We are the grateful recipients of a $14,000 grant from the Paul & Eleanore G. Ziegelmaier Endowment Fund of the SRCF and $6,000 from Placer Community Foundation’s Porter Fund, both of which will go a long way to providing nutritious meals to hungry seniors.

“We are happy to make this grant in support of a critical service to our local seniors,” commented Eileen Speaker, grants writer for the Placer Community Foundation. “The Porter Fund at Placer Community Foundation supports nonprofits that provide assistance to senior citizens and persons confined to their homes and we know Seniors First is the premiere organization doing so.”

We thank SRCF, PCF and other generous donors that make this program possible.
