About Us
First established in 1971 as the Volunteer Bureau of Placer County, its merger with Seniors First in 2007 established the organization as the largest senior service provider in Placer County. Seniors First’s goals are to: (1) educate and support seniors, caregivers and loved ones of seniors; and (2) provide direct services and information about available community resources. With a single phone call, Placer County older adults, family members and/or caregivers have access to a wide spectrum of programs and services.

Over the past year, Seniors First has:
Served 143,180 hot meals to hungry seniors
Provided over 1,000 hours of compassionate telephone reassurance to homebound seniors
Given 24,961 pounds of groceries to food insecure seniors
Facilitated 10,248 rides—covering over 90,000 miles—to ensure seniors stay mobile, independent, and connected
