Butterfly Stein of Auburn is a longtime Seniors First volunteer.  With more than 90 years of vivacious life under her belt, Butterfly understands that the service, personal connection and selflessness from volunteerism contributes to her health and longevity.
Along with daughter Sallysue, she makes a weekly visit to the Auburn Senior Cafe where they pick up hot meals to deliver to the MyMeals clients on their regular route.
“The Seniors First staff makes it so easy.  It’s on our weekly calendar, we make a quick stop at the kitchen to pick up the meals and we’re off!” Stein said.  She added, “Some clients have been on our route for several years now so I’ve heard about the births of their grandchildren, loss of a spouse, so many milestones.  We love zipping around town knowing we’re brightening someone’s day.”
Programs like MyMeals simply are not possible without the assistance of volunteers.  With flexible needs and routes, volunteering for Seniors First is easy and can accommodate most schedules.  If you are willing to make a difference in the life of a senior, please contact our volunteer coordinator Barb Withers at (530)889-9500 ext. 206 or barb@seniorsfirst.org.
