Home Modification and Safety Repairs
Maintaining a safe and healthy living environment becomes more difficult as one ages. Our Home Modification and Safety Repairs program offers free home and mobile home safety checks and repairs for low-income seniors and veterans. Typical health and safety repairs include installation or repair of grab bars, minor plumbing and electrical repair, and installation or battery replacement for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

The following information will help you determine what type of services may be available to seniors based upon the location of their residence:

Unincorporated Placer County
To qualify you must meet all four requirements:

  • You live in unincorporated Placer County
  • 60+ years of age or disabled
  • Low to moderate income
  • Own your own home or mobile home

City of Roseville
To qualify you must meet all four requirements:

  • Live in the City of Roseville
  • 62+ years of age
  • Are on low income
  • Own your own home or mobile home

The Roseville Handy Person Program is funded by a City of Roseville Community Development Block Grant.



City of Rocklin
To qualify you must meet all four requirements:

  • Live in the City of Rocklin
  • 62+ years of age
  • Are on low income
  • Own your own home or mobile home

The Rocklin Handy Person Program is funded by a City of Rocklin Community Development Block Grant.

Seniors First is able to support the Home Modification and Safety Repair program because of donations from various corporations, foundations and government grants. Due to the restrictions imposed by these funding sources, our service offerings vary from time to time.
